Its now day two and needless to say there is a long way to go.

I endlessly sit on Flickr and see these gorgeous conceptual shots. Which have been created at the hand of a skillfull photographer but also skillful photoshopper...Making words up is healthy, I think... Since starting my 365 project I have started frequenting youtube for photoshop tutorials.

All part of my quest to improve my photographic, conceptual and editing skills. Its a challenge; whats progression without a little challenge.

Welcome to my first 365 Project. Today is day one. A scary step for me. 365 self portraits. I think I will enjoy the challenge.

The gist of the project is merely to take one self-portrait a day and post it to flickr. Sounds simple enough...right?

All Who Wander;

There is always fun in looking through archived photoshoots. Tonight was one of those nights. I am sick and when a sick mind can't study it wanders... where better than your hard drive...

Here is a photo of Sally I took well over a year ago; 'All Who Wander;'

In taking a trip down memory lane through my hard drive I stumbled upon the series of photos I used in one of my HSC artworks.

I have a few shoots planned in the coming couple of weeks with friends so I am looking forward to that. It has been a while since I ave had the time to think about apertures and shutter speed..

Here is one of the photos that I used in the series.

Rendezvous

Finally after almost two months I have received my camera back, repaired and ready for business.

It feels good to be behind a lens again. I am expecting my new 35mm 1.8 lens to turn up any day now which will definitely be getting a work out when it turns up.

My shoot today was for a friend's portfolio for styling; asking me to take the shots for her. I was happy to oblige and get my camera back into action. We had three looks and three separate locations for each look. The shoot was at the behest of nature. I woke this morning to the drizzle outside the window. Hampered by grey clouds and hard white/blue natural light the photos needed some maintenance.

Here is a before and after of one of the shots:

Some simple variations in Photoshop later and you get a totally different outlook on the photo and the intended styling. Here are some more shots from the shoot today.

All in all it was a good shoot and I have another planned for the 23rd of January with Karlie Whybro and a landscape shoot the same day at sunrise.

'The Domino Effect'

It has been almost a month since my camera has been in repairs and I am suffering from serious withdrawals. Including the fact that I am unable to do any shoots.

Such is life and all I can do is wait until it arrives and I buy my new lens for it.

There was a quick update for the archives.
